FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS

Voter Registration
To vote in Maryland, you must register to vote (Code Election Law Article, secs. 3-101 through 3-603). Your local board of elections can tell you how and where to do that.
Voting Methods
In the voter's county of residence, a voter may choose to vote on election day at an assigned polling place, or may choose to vote by absentee ballot.

Primary Elections
Next primary election: September 2010.
In Presidential Election years: held on 2nd Tuesday in February (2012, 2016) (Chapter 219, Acts of 2007; Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-201).
In Gubernatorial Election years: held on 2nd Tuesday after 1st Monday in September (2010, 2014) (Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-201).
General Elections
Next general election: November 2, 2010.
Held on 1st Tuesday after 1st Monday in November in even-numbered years (2010, 2012)

Primary Elections
Next municipal primary election: September 2011.
Held in the year after Gubernatorial Election, on 2nd Tuesday after 1st Monday in September (2011, 2015) (Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-201).
General Elections
Next municipal general election: November 2011.
Held on 1st Tuesday after 1st Monday in November in the year after Gubernatorial election (2011, 2015) (Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-301).
